I just graduated college and landed this awesome job in Virginia. I was stoked to live on my own for the first time, but my mom was worried for me. I am her baby boy and she has a hard time letting go sometimes; she still carries pictures of me when I was little, in her purse. I told her I would be fine, and after she saw that I was living in a pretty nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors on both sides, I think she felt a little better. I am learning to do a lot of things on my own, though. I called and set up my cable, had my utilities turned on and got a landline installed. My mom told me to look into Wildblue Satellite Internetin Stafford because that is who they use so that made my internet decision easy. Since my phone and internet are set up, my mom is confident that we can stay in touch. Now if I could just get her off my back about getting a security alarm and that I need to come spend my weekends with them, then all would be good.

Romantic getaway at home

"Written by Sonny Quinn"I looked up satellite TV packages on cincinnati direct tv and actually picked out some new sports shows for my husband. It was supposed to be a surprise, but he walked home while I was doing it and was being awfully nosey. Once he got involved, we actually got a couple of movies and cooking channels. I was really shocked at the time. Now, I totally love it! When he gets home from work, I usually have already started dinner. I will get different recipes through the various channels. Sometimes, he asks if I would wait to start dinner so that we can try to cook a new recipe together. Last night, we made stuffed bell peppers. They were so delicious! The best part may have been what came after dinner though. We actually sat down and watching a movie together! That is something we had hardly been doing before. He said he wants this to be the norm for us from now on. I am not going to complain! I really love spending time with him and doing the things I love. Next thing you know, we will be watching travel channels and planning our next romantic getaway.

Basketball Games: Getting Kids Ready for School

To get my kids ready for school, I make sure to get them into physical shape. Over winter break, it is way too easy for kids to get lazy and forget they need to care about exercising and physical fitness. For my kids, I make sure to play some basketball games with them over winter break.

This also gets my sons ready for basketball tryouts, which are always in January. I love to play basketball with my two sons. They even beat me sometimes! Before we leave the house for the courts, I always set the homealarmsystems to make sure intruders do not enter our home.

The local courts are a fun way my sons can show me how much their skills have improved over the years. As a former coach, I am rather tough on my sons, but they love it. They love having me show them new basketball tricks, such as dribbling in between the legs or doing a left hand layup.

Overall, I think playing sports with kids over winter break is a great way to keep them in shape and refreshed for a new school year. I know my kids always feel ready for a new school year after I have played some games with them over break. My kids also stay healthy, which is always my number one priority!
