To  get my kids ready for school, I make sure to get them into physical  shape. Over winter break, it is way too easy for kids to get lazy and  forget they need to care about exercising and physical fitness. For my  kids, I make sure to play some basketball games with them over winter  break.
This also gets my sons ready for basketball tryouts, which  are always in January. I love to play basketball with my two sons. They  even beat me sometimes! Before we leave the house for the courts, I  always set the homealarmsystems to make sure intruders do not enter our home.
The  local courts are a fun way my sons can show me how much their skills  have improved over the years. As a former coach, I am rather tough on my  sons, but they love it. They love having me show them new basketball  tricks, such as dribbling in between the legs or doing a left hand  layup.
Overall, I think playing sports with kids over winter  break is a great way to keep them in shape and refreshed for a new  school year. I know my kids always feel ready for a new school year after I have played some games with them over break. My kids also stay healthy, which is always my number one priority!
